Box Score The Hostos Caimans overcame early injuries in the first half to earn a 95-87 conference win against the LaGuardia Red Hawks.  After star player Jefferson Francois exited the game in the opening minutes, the Caimans rallied with 5 players earning double-digit points. The Caimans overcame adversity and showed tremendous character against a formidable opponent.
 
Jemal Smith led all scorers earning a double-double with 24 points, 16 assists, 3 steals and 3 rebounds. Jahkeem Folks stepped up big with a double-double, adding 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 block shots, while shooting an impressive 90% from the field. Ariel Medina had a big performance as well, contributing 6 points, 11 rebounds and 2 monstrous blocks. Rounding up the offense were Kameron Outlaw with 18 points, David Ivanov with 15 points, and Moses Denis with 14 points.
 
The Caimans led the Red Hawks in virtually all categories, including shooting, rebounds, assists, and block shots. The Caimans shot a scorching 57.4% from the field, while shooting 81.8% from the charity stripe. With the victory, the Caimans maintain the #1 spot in the CUNYAC standings.
 
The Caimans are back in action on Saturday, January 30^th during a double-header match-up against the BMCC Panthers. The women's game is schedule to start at 12pm and the men's game at 2pm.
