NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Hostos Community College men's basketball team captured the 2026 CUNY Community College Men's Basketball Championship with a hard-fought 65–63 victory over Queensborough Community College at BMCC Gymnasium on Feb. 20, 2026. The Caimans' win marks Hostos' third consecutive city title and its fourth championship in the last five years.
Sophomore guard Harry Bonilla was voted Championship Game MVP, leading all scorers with 18 points while dishing a team-best 5 assists and an impressive 7 steals.
Bonilla's balanced attack included 8-of-20 shooting from the field and 1-of-3 from three, helping Hostos maintain a slight edge in field goal percentage (42.2 %–33.9 %). The Caimans also limited turnovers (8) compared to Queensborough's 15, a key factor down the stretch.
