BRONX, N.Y. – The Hostos Community College men's and women's basketball programs continue to earn national recognition heading into the 2025-26 season, with the women's team ranked No. 10 in the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Preseason Rankings, while the men's program received votes in the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Preseason Rankings.
The Hostos women's basketball team looks to build on another historic season after posting a 26-3 overall record in 2024-25. The Caimans captured the Region XV Championship for the first time since 2020 and secured their eighth consecutive CUNY Athletic Conference Championship. Under the direction of Head Coach Dwight Shaw, Hostos opens its title defense on November 1 when the Caimans face Community College of Rhode Island.
On the men's side, the Hostos men's basketball team is coming off an impressive 25-6 campaign that included a second straight CUNY Championship. With key returners and promising new talent, the Caimans aim to make another strong run this season. Hostos tipped off its 2025-26 campaign on November 1 against Roxbury Community College.
