Box Score Suffern, NY-
The highly anticipated return to the court for the Caimans is upon us. Coming off a Cinderella-esque season in which the Caimans claimed Region XV Championship honors, they hoped to continue the magic with a new cast of characters. This season the Caimans have a huge target on their backs much like the year prior because they won the CUNYAC championship. Returning players for the Caimans are
Jahkeem Folks,
Tyrone Codjoe,
Matthews Cabrera and
Jefferson Francois.
The game began with a mid range jump shot by
Kameron Outlaw, and the Caimans seemed to be headed on the right path. The Rockland Hawks then struck back and both teams went toe to toe taking shots at each other. The Caimans would go on a run, then Rockland would match it. It was a back and forth game for most of the first half. At halftime the Hawks walked into the locker room with a 10 point lead 38-28. A deficit that the Caimans could easily obliterate with their up-tempto press and offense.
Halftime concluded and it was time to step back on the court. The Caimans would see the lead balloon to 15 points, but chip it down to as little as 6. Despite their best efforts the Caimans fell to the Hawks 91-78. Playing well for the Caimans was
Jemal Smith with 25 points 7 assists and 6 steals and Kameron Outlaw with 14 points and 3 rebounds.
The Caimans will next be in action Thursday, November 5
th at 8PM versus the Sullivan Generals in Lock Sheldrake, NY.
