How Sweet It Is! #9 Caimans Capture 16th Win Over Ulster

Men's Basketball traveled to Ulster County Community College last night to face the Senators in NJCAA Region 15 action and walked away with a 103-67 victory. Ranked 9th Nationally the Caimans are now 16-2 overall and sit in second place in Region 15 with a 12-1 Region record and first in the CUNY Conference with a 5-0 record. 
 
Ulster started the game on fire hitting its first three 3 point attempts taking a 9-4 lead. Continued hot perimeter shooting pushed the Senator lead to 8, 18-10, with 14 minutes left in the first half. Hostos responded quickly over the next 3 minutes with a 15-4 run to take a 25-22 lead with 10:22 remaining. Hostos never relinquished the lead and went into half time with a 47-37 lead. Jansen and Whitaker combined for 28 of the Senator's 37 points.   For the Caimans, Jeremiah Brown had 13 points, Tyler Washington and Tyree White both had 8 points a piece.
 
In the second half, the Caimans pushed the lead ahead with improved play by Chris Van Buren (11 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds) and Arthur Lowe (10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists). Yet, it was the stalwart and birthday boy, Maverick Hodge who dished out a team high 10 assists to helped secure the margin for the Caimans. White continued to play well as he finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds.  Washington finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Rishawd Hendricks had 12 points and Henderson Belle 10 points for the Caimans as the game blew open in the second half and the Caimans finished with the 103-67 victory.
