Bayside, NY -- In a game televised by Queens Public TV, Hostos came out with pride as both teams began the end of the season road trips before the CUNY Athletics Conference playoffs against Queensborough CC. Despite holding the 22-13 advantage at the half with exceptional defense, the Lady Caimans fell behind the Lady Tigers in the 2nd half due to late 2nd half runs and fell 43-36 to conference leading Queensborough CC.
In the second away doubleheader on the Men's Basketball side, the Caimans continued to play team-oriented basketball with 8 second half assists and shot 51% from the field in the second half as they defeated Queensborough, 77-61, to improve to 5-2 in the CUNY Athletics Conference and in second place behind Bronx CC.
Sophomore
Charles Jackson exploded for 28 points, including 16 2nd half points, on 8-for-18 shooting and going 12-for-15 from the free throw line. Forward
Brian Morrison contributed with 10 points and 13 rebounds to help his team control the paint. With the win, Hostos moved to the second best record in team history since the 2005-06 National Championship team that finished 23-8 overall.
Hostos plays at Kingsborough CC in Brooklyn, NY tomorrow at 6pm and 8pm in the last CUNY Athletics Conference game before the playoffs for both teams. Full coverage can be found on:
