After battling the #4 team in the country, Sullivan Community College Generals, last Thursday night at Sullivan the Caimans return home this Tuesday at 7pm for their 2012-13 Home Opener against Regional foe the Senators from Ulster.
This past Thursday the Caimans fought Sullivan to a stand still but fell short by a final of 55-53. Up by 8 points midway thru the first half the Caimans found themselves down by 3 at halftime. The new look Caimans kept fighting and opened up a 5 point lead with a little under four minutes to go. With a silenced Sullivan gym, the Generals fought back to take a point lead with under a minute to go. Hostos had two chances in the final minute to win the game but fell short.
Chad Coachman led Hostos with 17 points and Antoinne Slaughter had 11 points.
Now the Caimans return home to face Ulster. Ulster upset the Caimans in the NJCAA Region 15 Tournament last March. In another nail biter, both
Brandon Stolz and
Charles Jackson had opportunities to win the game for Hostos but missed and ended a 19 win season for the Caimans in 2011-12. Now the Caimans look to energize and excite those for the new season. With six returners from last season and key additions the Caiman team looks well equipped to navigate the swamp.
Come see the Camians tomorrow at 7pm!!!
