Bronx, N.Y. - The Hostos men's basketball team hosted CUNYAC rival BMCC at The Swamp on Tuesday night for a regional and conference showdown. The Panthers went toe to toe with the Caimans including many lead changes and ties before Hostos took control of the game with a 8-0 run with five minutes left leading to the win 85-74. With the Victory the Caimans are now 15-9 overall and 8-0 in the CUNYAC.
Leading the way for the Caimans was freshman guard
Marquise Paulin who notched 23 points while adding three assists and three rebounds. standout freshman guard
Onias Outlaw continued his stellar freshman year with another double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Also reaching double figure scoring was freshman guard
Rashad Ramserran with 12 points on four knocked down threes and in the paint freshman forward
Tionne Palmer scored 11 points while hauling down eight rebounds.Â
As a team the Caimans out rebounded BMCC 40 to 32 and dished out 19 assists on the offensive end while knocking down 37.5% of their three point attempts.
Next up for the Caimans is a non conference tilt at Union Community College on Thursday, February 10 at 7:30pm.
