New Rochelle, N.Y. - The #1 ranked women's basketball team took to the road to face the Monroe-Bronx College Express in a Region XV tilt which was a rematch of last years regional championship game. The express came out ready to play and went on a 19-7 run to start the game and continued that pace going into halftime with a 38-19 lead. The second half would not treat the Caimans any better as Monroe-Bronx blitzed Hostos at the start of the second half en route to a 84-39 win over the Caimans. With the loss the Caimans are now 6-2 overall.
Leading the way for Hostos was sophomore guard
Starr Garcia who notched 11 points and three rebounds. Sophomore guard
Dimon Walker had nine points while sophomore forward
Lanasia Drain posted a eight point and five rebound effort. Off the bench sophomore
Zaire Bailey hauled down nine rebounds.
As a team Hostos committed 32 turnovers and were only able to muster shooting 22.6% form the floor.
Next up for the Caimans is a CUNYAC battle against BMCC at The Swamp on Thursday, December 8 at 6pm.
