Bayside, N.Y. - The Caiman men's basketball team continued their great week by beating the Quneesborough Community College Tigers on the road to finish the week off 3-0 after wins against College of Mt. St. Vincent JV and the University of Bridgeport JV earlier in the week. Against the CUNYAC rival Tigers the Caimans saw a back and forth first half affair going ino the halftime locker room with a four point lead 43-39. But the second half was all Caimans as they exploded on offense to take a 20 point lead and eventually capture the win by a final score of 99-73. With the win the Caimans are now 7-3 overall and 4-0 in CUNYAC play.
Leading the way for the Caimans was freshman guard
Justice Carrington who netted a team high 12 points to go along with four steals. Sophomore guard
Marquise Paulin added a double-double for the Caimans with 10 points and 10 assists to go along with seven steals and five rebounds. In the paint sophomore forward
Tionne Palmer also notched a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds plus three blocked shots. Freshman guard Vosco Hicks also contributed for the Caimans with 11 points and five rebounds. Off the bench
Jaysin Pichardo also had a good game with eight points and 10 rebounds. Also off the bench for Hostos was freshman guard Te Amo Ebron who had nine points and eight assists while adding five points.
As a team the Caimans held Queensborough to 42.4% from the floor and forced 21 Tiger turnovers while also winning the rebounding totals 55 to 32. On offense Hostos shot 45.7% from the floor and placed four players in double figure scoring.
Next up for the Caimans was is a road matchup against Region XV foe Monroe Bronx On Tuesday, December 6 at 8pm at the Monroe Athletic Complex in New Rochelle, New York.
