New Rochelle, N.Y. - The Caiman's men's basketball team traveled to New Rochelle to take on the Monroe-Bronx Express in a Region XV tilt which was a rematch of last season regional championship game. The first half belonged to the Express as their full court press turned over the Caimans and led to a 15 point halftime lead for Monroe 43-28. But the Caimans would not go away easy and in the second half Hostos was able to cut the lead down to six points but could not get any closer as the Express was able to hold on for the win.
Leading Hostos was freshman
David Honore and Teamo Ebron who each notched 12 points a piece for the Caimans with Ebron adding eight rebounds. Also scoring in double figures for the Caimans was freshman guard
Justice Carrington who posted a 11 point and three rebound effort. In the paint sophomore forward
Tionne Palmer had a nine point and six rebound night.
As a team the Caimans struggled from three point range shooting a meager 15.8% while only being able to shoot 36.1% overall from the floor. The Caimans also committed 22 turnovers.
Next up for the Caimans is a CUNYAC battle against BMCC at The Swamp on Thursday, December 8 at 8pm.
