Brooklyn, N.Y. - The #2 nationally ranked Caimans women's basketball team took to the road on Thursday night as they headed to Brooklyn to take on the Kingsborough Community College Wave in CUNYAC and Region XV action. The Caimans led through out the contest as they placed four players in double figure scoring and captured their third win of the season. Hostos came out right from the beginning of the game on fire as they out paced the Wave 25-7 in the first quarter and then by a 30-2 clip in the second quarter to head into the locker room with a 55-9 lead. The second half was also all Hostos as they closed the game out by the final score of 100-21. With the win the Caimans are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in CUNYAC and Region XV action. 

Leading the Caimans in scoring was Aiyana Hicks who netted 21 points to go along with seven rebounds, four blocks, three assists and three steals. Sophomore Center Lanasia Drain dominated in the paint posting a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds as well as three blocks. Sophomore guard Starr Garcia also posted 19 points for the Caimans while adding five steals while going 2 of 2 from deep. Sophomore Guard Savannah Williams narrowly missed a triple double posting 18 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. Freshman point guard Felicia Felicien made her debut for the Caimans with nine points and six assists while also adding six rebounds. Off the bench sophomore Zaire Bailey had eight points while hauling down 10 rebounds. 

As a team the Caimans forced 27 Wave turnovers while on offense they shot 49.4% from the floor and 36.4% from the three point line. On the boards Hostos out rebounded Kingsborough 55 to 30. 

Next up for the Caimans is a home game against Suffolk Community College on Thursday, November 17 at 6pm.
