Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Hostos men's basketball team traveled to Brooklyn on Thursday night to face off with the Wave of Kingsborough Community College in a CUNYAC and Region XV match-up. The game would prove to be a tail of two half's for the Caimans as late heroics from sophomore guard Marquis Paulin saved the day after the Wave erased a 25 point halftime deficit. The first have would be all Caimans as they came out of the gate to take the lead and cruise to a 52-27 lead at halftime over Kingsborough. But the Wave would not go down easy as they went on multiple unanswered run to close the gap eventually leading to a tie 68-68 with three seconds left. That is when sophomore sharpshooter Marquis Pauling knocked down a three at the buzzer to give the Caimans the 71-68 lead. With the win the Caimans now improve to 2-2 overall and are 2-0 in CUNYAC and Region XV action. 

Leading the way for the Caimans was freshman guard Justice Carrington who paced the Caimans with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four steals. In the paint sophomore forward Tionne Palmer posted his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds while adding three blocks. sophomore guard Marquis Pauling added 12 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Freshman guard Randolph Charles added nne points and five rebounds for the Caimans while freshman forward David Honore added 11 rebounds in the paint. Off the bench freshman guard Vosco Hicks added seven points and seven rebounds. 

On the defensive end as a team the Caimans forced 26 Wave turnovers while holding them to 40.6% shooting from the floor. On the offensive end Hostos shot 43.3% from the floor while knocking down 39.1% of their three point attempts while dishing out 24 assists. On the glass the Caimans out rebounded Kingsborough 69 to 47 while also hauling down 19 offensive rebounds. 

Next up for Hostos is a home game on Thursday, November 15 at 7pm as the Caimans will host the Dutchess Community College Falcons at The Swamp.
