Bronx, N.Y. - The #7 Sharks of Suffolk Community College visited The Swamp on Thursday night in a Region XV showdown with playoff implications on the line. The Caimans came out strong in the first half building their lead to a high of 15 points with 9:27 remaining in the first half. Suffolk responded with a run of it's own to close the half down nine 35-26. The second half saw a back and forth affair before a 21-4 Suffolk run would put them on top for good as they captured the victory 70-62. With the loss Hostos is now 11-7 overall and 7-3 in Region XV play.
Leading the way for the Caimans was freshman guard
Onias Outlaw who posted a double-double with a team high 18 points while hauling down 10 rebounds and adding five assists. Freshman guard
Marquise Paulin added 14 points for the Caimans to go along with four rebounds and three assists. Also contributing to the effort was freshman forward
Ashaunte Manuel who corralled a team high 12 rebounds and added nine points.Â
Next up for the Caimans is a pivotal CUNYAC matchup against Queensborough Community College on Friday, January 28 at QCC. Tip-off is slated for 6:00pm and will be live streamed on www.QCCtigers.com.
