Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Caiman Men's Basketball team took to the road to face CUNYAC rival Kingsborough Community College on Tuesday night securing their fourth victory in a row by the score of 94-64. Hostos played team basketball from start to finish with six players finishing in double figuring scoring. Two Hostos cagers posted double-doubles and a third Caiman notched his first career triple double. With the win the Caimans are now 11-6 overall and sit atop the CUNYAC standings with a 5-0 record.
Leading the way for the Caimans over The Wave was freshman guard
Rashad Ramserran who recorded his first career triple double with 12 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Freshman forward Ashunate Manuel notched a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds and freshman guard
Onias Outlaw also posted a double-double for the Caimans with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Kai Holland led Hostos in scoring against The Wave with 19 points to go along with six assists. Freshman guard
Marquise Paulin and freshman guard/forward
Jaylen Thomas both posted 15 point nights.
As a team the Caimans shot a season best 34.6% from three point territory and also dished out a season high of 33 assists. Defensively Hostos recorded 14 steals and protected the rim with five blocks.
Next up for the Caimans is a Region XV matchup against #7 Suffolk Community College at home in The Swamp on Thursday, January 27 at 8:00pm. The game will be live streamed from the www.hostosathletics.com website.
