Bronx, N.Y. - The Caimans Men's basketball team was back in action at The Swamp on Saturday afternoon when they took on Rockland Community College. The Caimans team effort lead to six different payers in double figure scoring and a 93-59 victory. With the win Hostos is 9-6 overall and 4-0 in CUNYAC action.
Leading the way for the Caimans was sophomore guard
Kai Holland who netted a game high 19 points to along with five assists and four steals. Freshman guard/forward
Jaylen Thomas posted a career high of 17 points and 6 rebounds.
Rashad Ramserran had his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while freshman guard
Onias Outlaw added 11 points, five steals and five rebounds. Also contributing for the Caimans was freshman guard
Marquise Paulin who stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals. On the inside freshman forward
Ashaunte Manuel recorded a double double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.
As a team the Caimans out rebounded the Hawks 47 to 35 while pulling down 23 offensive rebounds. Hostos also had a season high 29 assists and their pressure defense resulted in 18 steals.
Next up for the Caimans is a Region XV match up against Monroe-Bronx on Thursday, January 20 at 8pm.
