Bronx, N.Y. - The Caimans men's basketball team welcomed Nassau CC to The Swamp on Tuesday night for an all important Region XV matchup. The back and forth contest resulted with the Caimans heading into the locker room at halftime with a 35-30 lead. But the Lions would not go down easy and they clawed with the second half seeing multiple lead changes but the Caimans were able to hold on for the victory by a score of 69-67. With the win the Caimans are not 7-4 overall and 6-2 in Region XV.
Leading the way for the Caimans was freshman guard
Marquise Paulin who netted a team high 16 points to go along with two rebounds and two assists. Also making a big impact on the Caimans was freshman forward
Ashaunte Manuel who posted his first career triple double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a career high 10 blocks. Manuel also contributed in the paint pulling down 7 rebounds. In the paint freshman forward
Tionne Palmer collected eight rebounds and eight points. Freshman guard
Onias Outlaw contributed eight points and five rebounds.
Next up for the Caimans is a home tilt against Roxbury Community College on January 7, 2022 with tip-off scheduled for 7:00pm.
