Amidstthe celebration of life as we honored those cancer survivors, we commemorated our sophomore athletes. From the Men's Soccer Program Benjamin Frempong, Madany Toure, Urgyen Tashi and Alhassan Bio Salifu. And for the Women's Volleyball Program Johanna Palma, Ebony Williams, Marie McKenzie, Sidasia Johnson and number Tenaya Hawkins. The stands were packed with supporters, friends, family, staff and other athletes.
After kind words towards the athletes getting honored the game was about to start as your HostosCaimans readied to face the QueensboroughTigers. The Tigers were stepping into the swamp to try and maintain their CUNYACundefeated streak for the season. The first set saw the Tigers pulling away and winning 25-16. In the second set the Lady Caimans gave the Tigers fits before unfortunately succumbingto them26-24. The Tigers would go on to win the match, but not before an impressive rally by the Caimans that didn't go down without a fight. Playing well for the Caimans were the twin towers of Marie McKenzie and Sidasia Johnson. Both contributing big with McKenzie having 4 kills 3 blocks 15 digs and Johnson adding 7 kills 4 blocks and 12 digs.

The Lady Caimans will travel to Garden City, NY in double header action Saturday October 17th. Game 1 is at 12PM versus Suffolk County CC and Game 2 is at 1:15PM vs Nassau CC
