BRONX - Hostos Community College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the promotion of Jhonnattan Fernandez as head coach of the women's volleyball program. Fernandez brings over a decade of volleyball experience as a coach.

Coach Fernandez has been a part of the Hostos community for close to 20 years in a variety of roles. Most recently, Coach Fernandez served as an Assistant Coach for the Volleyball program for the past seven years.

"I am thrilled to have Coach Fernandez take over as the leader of our women's volleyball program.," Director of Athletics Brent Wilson said. "Coach Fernandez has been a valued member of the Hostos family for many years and we are excited to have him take over and elevate our women's volleyball program to a new level. I am really looking forward to working with Coach Fernandez, as we continue to build our women's volleyball program."

Fernandez graduated from Hostos in 2010 with a degree in Liberal Arts & Science. Professionally, he works at P126x as an After School Program Supervisor. He also assists the Athletic Department as a facilities supervisor. Currently, Fernandez is working toward a degree in Movement Science from York College.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT HOSTOS COMMUNITY COLLEGE
The athletic program at Hostos Community College encompasses a total of seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
