Once the Lady Caimans started to rally behind each other, they worked hard to win the second set, 25-11, amidst a nice supporting crowd of Hostos students, parents, friends, and the other three Hostos teams - Men's Soccer, Men's Basketball, and Women's Basketball staff and student-athletes for the home opener at the Swamp at Hostos Community College.
Hostos capitalized on many Bronx Community College mistakes, but the Broncos still managed to win the third and fourth set to capture the match, 3-1 for the win and the title for Battle of the Bronx. Despite the loss, the Lady Caimans showed fight at times and played until the end.
Head Coach Tracey Igwe made her home coaching debut at the Swamp along with former Team Manager, now Assistant Coach, Raymond Acevedo.
