BRONX, N.Y. – Hostos Community College has announced Craig Williams as the new Head Coach of the women's basketball program.

Williams returns to Hostos after spending the past two seasons as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Bronx Community College, where he helped lead one of the most successful stretches in program history. During the 2025–2026 season, Williams guided the Broncos to their first CUNY Community College Championship since 2016, earned the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA Region XV Division III Tournament, received an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament and captured the program's first national tournament victory. He was also named the 2025–2026 CUNY Coach of the Year.

"He knows this program, he knows our conference and region, and most importantly, he understands how to connect with and develop student-athletes. Craig has built a strong reputation as a coach and leader, and we believe he is the right person to continue moving our women's basketball program forward."

Williams is no stranger to the Caimans. He previously served as Assistant Head Coach at Hostos during the 2023–2024 season, helping the program finish 22-4 overall, win the CUNY Athletic Conference Championship and advance to the NJCAA Region XV Tournament semifinals. That season, Hostos went undefeated against CUNYAC opponents, finished 11-1 at home and held opponents to fewer than 40 points per game.

In addition to his time at Hostos and Bronx, Williams brings years of coaching experience across the college, high school and AAU levels. His coaching background includes stops with the New York Gauchos, Monroe College-Bronx, Riverside Church, Castle Athletics, Bingo Allstars, Westchester Hoopers, St. Francis Prep and New Heights.

Williams takes over a Hostos program with a strong championship foundation, just two seasons removed from a season in which they finished 26-3 overall, captured the Region XV Championship for the first time since 2020 and secured the program's eighth consecutive CUNY Athletic Conference Championship.
