Bronx, N.Y. - The Caimans Men's Basketball team battled CUNYAC rival Kingsborough Community College in The Swamp on Tuesday night as the two teams went toe to toe and needed an extra five minutes to figure out who would take home the victory. Hostos would come out swinging first holding a five point lead for the majority of the first half until Kingsborough went on a 8-0 run to go into half time with a 40-37 lead. The Wave would continue to control the half holding the lead for the majority of the second stanza until Hostos rolled off four points in 30 seconds to force overtime. In overtime freshman guard
TeAmo Ebron would prove to be the difference with his put back layup under a minute putting the Caimans on top and his three pointer on the next possession sealing the victory for Hostos. with the win the Caimans are now 11-8 overall and 6-1 in the CUNYAC conference.
The Caimans placed four players in double figure scoring led by sophomore guard
Randolph Charles with 15 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Marquis Paulin also added 15 points to go along with six steals. Meanwhile overtime hero
TeAmo Ebron netted 15 points to go along with nine rebounds. Also having a big night for the Caimans was freshman guard
Justice Carrington who posted a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds while also dishing out five assists.
As a team the Caimans dished out 23 assists while the front line hauled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Next up for the Caimans is a road Region XV matchup with Suffolk CC on Thursday, January 26 at 8pm.
