Sewell, N.J. - The #11 Women's Basketball team took to the road to take on #9 RCSJ-Gloucester in a battle of nationally ranked teams. The first half was a classic battle between two heavy weight teams as the first quarter ended in a 15-15 tie and the second quarter would go in the Roadrunners favor but only by one point as RCSJ-Gloucester went into the halftime locker room up 32-31. But the third quarter would be all Caimans as they took a five point lead and were able to hold on until the final buzzer to take the victory by a final score of 71-69. With the win the #11 Caimans are now 9-3 overall and 6-0 in CUNYAC action. 

Leading the way for the #11 Caimans was sophomore guard Savannah Williams who posted one of three double doubles for the Caimans with a 20 point and 11 rebound effort while also adding eight assists. In the front court sophomore forward Aiyana Hicks added 17 points with a team high 13 rebounds and four blocks. Front court mate LanAsia Drain also notched a double-double for the Caimans with a 14 point and 11 rebound effort. Also scoring in double figures for the Caimans was sophomore point guard Dimon Walker who added 13 points and six rebounds. Also contributing for the Caimans was sophomore guard Starr Garcia who added 11 rebounds while netting seven points. 

As a team the Caimans shot 42.4% from the field while knocking down 35% of their three point attempts. Where the Caimans really excelled was the free throw line making 14 of 16 attempts for a season best 87.5% from the line as a team. Hostos also dished out 19 assists while hauling down 11 offensive rebounds. 

Next up for the Caimans Women's Basketball team is a Region XV matchup against Monroe-Bronx on Thursday, January 19 at The Swamp. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm.
