Long Island City, N.Y. - The Caiman Men's Basketball team took to the road on Thursday night to take on the LaGuardia Community College Red Hawks in CUNYAC action. The Caimans came out hot from the start taking a commanding lead at half time 53-13 in rout to a 99-39 victory. With the win the Caimans now improve to 8-6 overall and 5-1 in CUNYAC action.
Leading the way for Hostos was freshman forward
Jaysin Pichardo who posted a 14 point, seven rebound and five assist effort. Fellow freshman guard
Justice Carrington was also in double figure scoring netting 12 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. Sophomore guard Marquis Paulin also had a good night for the Caimans with 10 points, five rebounds, five assist while also adding four steals. Off the bench freshman wing
TeAmo Ebron posted a double-double with 11 rebounds and a career high 15 assists. Also having a big night for the Caimans was freshman forward
David Honore who snagged 10 rebounds while also netting 8 points.
As a team the Caimans shot a blistering 54.4% from the floor while holding the Red Hawks to 31.4% from the floor while also out rebounding them 74 to 33.
Next up for the Caimans is a weekend trip to New England where the Caimans will take on the Community College of Rhode Island and Quincy Community College.
