Bronx, N.Y. - The Women's Basketball team secured their eight win of the season and improved to 2-0 in the CUNYAC with a win over CUNYAC and borough rival Bronx Community College in The Swamp by a final score of 87-28. With the win the Caimans are now 8-1 overall and are ranked #9 nationally in the latest NJCAA national poll.
The Caimans won with a total team effort placing five players in double figure scoring. Leading the way for Hostos was freshman guard
Dimon Walker who netted a game high 20 points and seven assists. Also having big night for the Caimans was freshman forward
Savannah Williams with 18 points, seven steals, six assists and five rebounds while sophomore guard
Shania Lewis registered 18 points and added a game high 15 rebounds and a game high 10 steals. Inside for the Caimans sophomore forward
Ayanna Brown finished with a double-double with 13 points while pulling down 11 rebounds. Also contributing for the Caimans was freshman guard
Starr Garcia adding 10 points and five steals.
Next up for the Caimans is a showdown with #4 Monroe-Bronx at The Swamp on Thursday, January 20 at 6pm.
