Box Score Bronx, N.Y. - The #9 Caiman women's basketball team continued it winning ways on Tuesday evening in the Swamp taking on the visiting Avengers of ASA-Brooklyn knocking off their opponent 79-60. With the Win the Caimans are now 6-1 overall and ranked #9 in the nation in the latest NJCAA poll.
Leading the way for the Caimans inside was sophomore
Ayanna Brown who had 15 points to along with a career high 19 rebounds. She was joined by freshman
Savannah Williams who notched a team high 22 points and had 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Also scoring in double figures for Hostos was freshman guard
Dimon Walker with 15 points and 5 assists and freshman forward Ayiana Hicks who totaled 14 points while also pulling down 6 rebounds while adding 5 steals.
As a team the Caimans shot 48.5% from the floor while dishing out 22 assists. Defensively Hostos forced ASA-Brooklyn into 20 turnovers and held them to 37.1% from the field and came away with 17 steals.
Next up for the #9 Caimans is a rematch of the 2020 Region XV championship game as the Nassau CC Lions travel to the Swamp on Tuesday, December 14. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm and can be seen on the Hsotos Athletics live stream which can be found on www.hostosathletics.com.
