Bronx, N.Y. - The Hostos Men's Basketball team continued their winning ways on Thursday evening with a 93-57 win over CUNYAC opponent Kingsborough Community College. With the win the Caimans improve to 3-1 and 2-0 in the CUNYAC. The Caimans are also currently ranked #14 in the nation in the latest NJCAA national poll.
Freshman guard
Marquise Paulin led the way for the #14 Caimans with a 15 point, 4 steal, 3 assist effort. Leading the way off the bench was sophomore forward
Sidi Toure who added 11 points and 8 rebounds.
Xavier Ryan,
Kai Holland and
Babacar Ndiaye all added 9 points apiece while interior presence
Tionne Palmer posted 6 points and 7 rebounds and freshman guard
Joshua Brown added 7 points and a team high 6 assists and a team high 5 steals.
As a team the Caimans forced 22 steals while also dishing out 28 assists to only 17 turnovers. Hostos also went to work in the paint with 17 offensive rebounds while shooting a respectable 30% from behind the arc.
The Caimans are back in action on Tuesday, November 16 when they travel to play Monroe Bronx for a Region XV matchup. Tip-off is slated for 8pm.
