Rudy King has been part of the basketball landscape for more than 40 years as a high school and prep head coach, mentor, evaluator, event director, and grassroots basketball advocate. His coaching experience spans every level of high school basketball and the past 13 years coaching in the CHSAA at Monsignor Scanlan.Â
King is the longtime Director of the SMARTBALL Classic and has worked with some of the nation’s premier basketball camps and platforms, including ABCD Camp, Five-Star Basketball, and Hoop Group, while learning under the mentorship of several legendary figures in the game. His basketball journey includes City, State, and Federation Championships, as well as being part of the early grassroots beginnings of Overtime Sports.
Beyond basketball, King is a retired executive with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where he spent more than two decades as a public information officer and media relations professional.
For King, the mission has remained consistent: use basketball to develop young people, create opportunities, and give back to the game that has given him so much.
