BRONX, N.Y. — Hostos Community College Director of Athletics, Recreation and Intramurals
Brent Wilson has announced the appointment of
Harrison McDonald as the College's new Aquatics Coordinator.
McDonald brings experience in collegiate swimming, aquatics instruction, student development and higher education administration to Hostos. In his new role, he will oversee the College's aquatics programming and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for students and members of the campus community.
"We are excited to welcome Harrison to Hostos," Wilson said. "His background as a collegiate coach, swim instructor and higher education administrator makes him a strong fit for this role. We look forward to the leadership he will provide to our aquatics programs."
McDonald previously served as an assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming programs at Purchase College, where he supported the development of NCAA student-athletes and assisted with team operations. He has also worked as a swim coach and instructor with Empire Aquatics Swim Club since 2021, coaching swimmers ages 7–18 and helping oversee more than 20 meets annually.
McDonald also brings administrative experience from Purchase College's School of Natural and Social Sciences, where he supported students and faculty, coordinated events and communications and supervised the school's tutoring center.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Purchase College, where he served as captain of the swimming team during the 2018–19 season. He holds training and certifications in CPR/AED, first aid, athlete protection and concussion protocols.
