Bronx, N.Y. - The Caiman Women's Volleyball team captured a thrilling five set victory against CUNYAC rival Kingsborough Community College on Tuesday night in The Swamp. Kingsborough took control of the match early taking the first two sets by a score of 25-23 in each. Although they were both back and forth matches the Wave was able to finish off the Caimans in both sets. But Hostos did not lose confidence and was able to rally in the third set to win 25-23. From there Hostos took control of the match winning the fourth set 25-18 to even out the match 2-2. The fifth set was a classic battle as but Hostos came out on top 15-12 to earn the win 3-2. With the win the Caimans are now 4-8 overall and 2-2 in CUNYAC action.
Leading the way for the Caimans was sophomore outside hitter
Savannah Williams who posted career highs of 23 kills and 25 digs. Freshman outside hitter Jasmine Garcia had a career night posting a career best 20 assists while also adding 10 kills and five digs. Sophomore setter Ashley Cabral added nine assists and a team high three service aces. Also contributing for the Caimans was freshman outside hitter Nicole Rosas who recorded eight kills, and 11 digs while freshman
Iyanna Charon had 10 digs for the Caimans.
