BRONX, N.Y. – The Hostos Community College men's and women's basketball teams have once again secured their spot in the championship game, poised to defend their city title on Friday, Feb. 21, at BMCC Gymnasium.
Game 1: No. 1 Kingsborough vs. No. 2 Hostos – 6:00 PM
The evening kicks off with a highly anticipated clash between two nationally ranked powerhouses, setting the stage for an electrifying rematch of last season's CUNY final.
The Caimans, seven-time defending league champions, enter Friday's matchup with an impressive 23-1 record, riding a five-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Kingsborough boasts a stellar 25-1 record and is currently on a 23-game win streak.
Adding to the drama, the two squads have handed each other their only loss of the season.
Game 2: No. 1 Hostos vs. No. 3 Kingsborough – 8:30 PM
The Caimans boast a 23-5 overall record and enter the championship game on a four-game winning streak as they look to secure a third city title in four season. Hostos punched their ticket to Friday's final with a dominant 93-58 victory over BMCC.
Kingsborough, sitting at 14-11 overall, has also won four straight, including a hard-fought 67-66 road victory over Queensborough in Tuesday's semifinal.
The Caimans took both regular-season matchups, including a thrilling 77-76 win on January 21.
